Restricted Driving Permits and How To Get One After a DUI Arrest
Restricted Driver Permits after a DUI*
If you are eligible, a restricted permit will automatically be mailed to your address of record. Make sure your address is updated. You should receive one within 22-30 days after the suspension period begins (if you did not request a hearing with MVD). However, a minimum of 30 days must be served before the restricted driving privilege can begin. This restricted permit can ONLY be used for travel to and from work/job, to and from school, and to and from a treatment center.
* There is also the possibility of what is known as a Special Restricted Driver License which will be the subject of a future blog post.
